Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hardware Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The candidate will play a crucial role in the development and launch of next gen hardware systems / appliances and manage the current line of products. The Hardware Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the transition of new products from the design phase to manufacturing, ensuring seamless production processes, and optimizing the overall product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams through the Hardware Systems Engineering and NPI process, coordinating efforts between design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with R&D, hardware and program team to manage transfer from prototype to NPI in contract manufacturers.
- Collaborate with external and internal hardware design teams to provide input on manufacturability, cost optimization, and scalability during the product design phase.
- Oversee the development and testing of prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications, compliance requirements and quality standards.
- Work closely with test engineering to develop and implement comprehensive test plans for hardware components and systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to establish production processes, resolve technical issues, and ensure the efficient transfer of products to mass production.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners in reviewing and developing quality control procedures to ensure the consistency and reliability of hardware systems.
- Investigate and address any quality issues that may arise during the NPI process and RMA
- Manage vendor relationships
- Conduct comprehensive manufacture and supply strategy within budgets and schedule with Program and Sourcing team to meet launch schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. (Masters Degree preferred)
- Proven 8+ years of experience in hardware systems engineering and NPI, preferably in a technology or electronics manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of hardware design principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control.
- Experience with industry standards and regulations related to hardware development and manufacturing.
- Experience with standards and regulatory certifications,
- Experience with any programming languages or scripting is a plus
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills and analytical skills
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully working with cross-functional teams.
