Macdonald & Company is partnering with a prominent affordable housing owner, investor, and developer seeking to appoint a Vice President of Asset Management for their Los Angeles office. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction and maximizing the value of a diverse portfolio of properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute asset management strategies that enhance property value, optimize cash flow, and ensure the successful execution of key capital projects.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each asset’s unique operational challenges and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Oversee and guide large-scale capital projects, ensuring seamless collaboration between contractors and service providers, with a focus on on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with property management teams, proactively addressing issues and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, comparing monthly and quarterly financials against budgets, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring they align with the overarching asset management strategy.
- Work closely with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across various government housing programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
- 7-12 years of experience in real estate asset management or finance, with a strong focus on affordable or workforce housing.
- Proven background transitioning from property management to asset management.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial data and develop data-driven strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills, adept at engaging with investors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
- A history of career progression with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Willingness to travel within California.
