The Senior Director of Security is the senior authority in security matters for Danny Wimmer Presents and is responsible for developing and executing a security strategy for all of our domestic events that is aligned with the company’s objectives. This position leads the advance planning and onsite management of security operations, ensuring the event is thoroughly prepared to deal with ordinary crimes and incidents (fights, drunkenness, etc.) along with the worst-case scenarios (extraordinary crimes, violence by protestors, and possible terrorist attacks, etc.). The Senior Director of Security must be adept and confident in developing the overall approach to and governance of projects, budgeting and forecasting, collaborating with cross-functional teams, decision-making, and scaling to support business growth. They must also be skilled in establishing temporary organizational arrangements for individual events alongside long-term corporate staffing models, management and organizational structures, and methods of communication. Ideal candidates foster a culture of teamwork, strive for operational excellence, and possess a mindset of “life safety first.”Candidates based in Los Angeles, CA are preferred, however candidates based in Louisville, KY will be considered.

Threat and Risk Assessments
- Identify and articulate relevant security risks to leadership based on key factors, including: size of event; threats such as common crimes (e.g. robbery and assault), fires, vandalism, natural disasters, protests, terrorism, and gangs; historical, political, or symbolic significance

Security Workforce and Resource Planning
- Full-time corporate employees
- Project-based independent contractors and consultants
- Private security guard (aka “event staff”) service providers

- EOD canines and handlers
- Mounted patrol
- Bicycle units

Communications and Technology
- Incident Command Center integration
- Radio interoperability
Access Control: Screening and Physical Security
- Perimeter intrusion deterrents (e.g. physical barriers and security lighting)
- Magnetometers, pat-down searches, and visual inspections
- Credentialing
- Anti-counterfeiting
- Numerical and/or color codes to indicate access, personnel functions, and permission to carry items
- CCTV surveillance and observation platforms
- Screening of vulnerabilities - vendors and deliveries, trucks and limos, and mail/delivery services
- Inspections of facilities and packages
Transportation / Traffic
- Vehicle access

- Road closures and railroad security
- Helicopter access and airspace control
Intelligence
- Ensure relevant federal officials, such as FBI and DHS, are informed in advance to guarantee awareness and possible support in gathering intelligence
Administrative and Logistics Support
- Procurement of equipment
- Security operations logistics including personnel transport and parking
Protection of Critical Infrastructure and Utilities
- Plans for infrastructure and utilities that could threaten event security, such as local water supply, electrical supply, communications grid, computer systems, etc.
Demonstrations and Crowd Control Issues
- Legal access; restricting access

Strategic Sourcing and Partnerships / Stakeholder Management
- Strengthen external partnerships with local and state law enforcement, federal agencies, third-party vendors, and community organizations
Training
- Tabletop exercises in partnership with fire/EMS, health department/hospitals, and other government officials
- Special classes and training courses
Standard Operating Procedures
- Develop and implement a baseline approach / standard operating procedure for current and future events
Business Impact Analysis
Competencies and Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in security operations with increasing scope, responsibility, and complexity at a live event company
- Demonstrated leadership experience in building, managing, mentoring, and growing security teams
- Proven experience driving results with a mindset of continuous improvement
- Skilled in identifying and presenting risks and recommendations to senior management
- Adept at collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
- Employs a highly-collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Experience in managing budgets, contracts, and performance metrics
- Ability to travel and/or be onsite up to 30% of the time
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
- Master at planning, prioritizing, organizing, and executing
- Competency in Microsoft and Google suites
- Event Safety Alliance training and certifications preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in security, business or related field
