We are looking for a CISO (can have titles such as "Lead Security Engineer") to work for our client, a large Municipality in North Texas.
This is a 6 month contract to hire role; onsite in Plano, TX
Skills/Experience Needed:
- 7+ years' experience as a Security Manager, or Sr. Security Engineer
- CISSP or CISM certification required
- Experience defining and managing a security strategic plan and program
- Experience developing and managing Incident Response Plan
- Auditing experience, specifically with HIPPA and PCI, NIST
- Strong network security, infrastructure, and architecture knowledge
- Experience assessing and mitigating security vulnerabilities, threats, and risks in both Infrastructure and application architecture.
- Experience developing and exercising disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Knowledge of systems and infrastructure lifecycle management
Tooling the team is currently using: Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Okta, CloudFlare, Abnormal, etc
Plusses
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) process knowledge
- CJIS Knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and experience managing Firewalls (preferably Palo Alto)
- Experience implementing security components like network access control (NAC), Multi-factor authentication (MFA), and Security Information and Even Management (SIEM) tools
This large municipal government is looking for a well-rounded Security Manager / Sr. Security Engineer to act as their Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This position will report to the CIO and will define the security program for the entire organization and oversee all security operations. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, auditing, network security, cyber security, disaster recovery/business continuity, incident response, user training, etc. The candidate will need to have a very strong understanding of Network Infrastructure and its architecture with emphasis on security. They must have an understanding Business process management and risk assessments. We strive for win / win solutions that enable the business while protecting the overall City. This person will have significant interactions with the City Executive Team as well as heavy interactions with departmental staff on strategic initiatives and protecting their operations. Excellent verbal skills and ability to create supporting processes and documentation required. Ability to collaborate across IT teams in search of practical solutions is a must. This role is onsite with optional remote Fridays.
