System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure. This would include proactive software updates and patching as well as equipment and software refresh / maintenance. In addition, this position is responsible to support high level as well as departmental projects. Such projects include, but are not limited to e-mail, application virtualization, remote access, file and print services, and Active Directory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Involved in the development and implementation of system policies and standard practices to ensure effective and consistent operations of all systems as well as safeguard information resources.
- Monitors and maintains backup systems and develops disaster recovery plans.
- Implements security procedures and/or policies concerning data/systems access and virus prevention.
- Configures and implements I.T. systems.
- Installs system software and hardware for operating systems, applications and servers including, but not limited to, e-mail systems, file and print systems, virus defense, web services and remote access.
- Purchases hardware and software
- Performs server hardware and server software maintenance functions such as firmware upgrades, installing software service packs and configuring enhancements.
- Maintains system security including operating system security patches.
- Performs system administration functions such as Active Directory maintenance, DNS changes, granting server permissions, server log management, email system administration, print queue management, web server support.
- Provide escalation support for the Service Desk and Desktop Support Teams
Qualifications:
- Demonstration of increased responsibility with computer client/server systems required. Windows Server 2016 and newer experience required.
- Microsoft software applications including but not limited to IIS, SQL, DNS, DHCP, and active directory required.
- Microsoft Office 365 experience required.
- VMWare VCenter Server and ESXi version 6.7 and up experience required
- Backup and disaster recovery solution configuration and management, VEEAM backup and replication experience required
- Managed switch and router configuration preferred
- Firewall management, SonicWALL preferred
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in a related discipline(Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering etc.) required
- 7 Years in computer systems administration, hardware and software troubleshooting and program development are desired
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Microsoft servers and applications like active directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, and Office 365
- Minimum 5 years of experience with departmental application support and administration (e.g. Web applications, .NET applications and SQL/Oracle based applications)
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing backup and recovery solutions, VEEAM backup and replication preferred
