The Network Engineer will provide general expert level engineering support to the Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) Department, Division and branch employees in order to sustain and maintain current network infrastructure.
In this role, you will:
- Performs various Network Engineering troublshooting, testing, configuring and overall maintenance to Government Networks
- Network Infrastructure management, upgrades, provisioning and overall engineering support
- Troubleshooting and Support, including the provision of expert-level support for network-related issues and other IT systems issues ensuring quick issue resolution
- Security Compliance, including enforcing and maintaining DOD security protocols to safeguard the network infrastructure and sensitive information
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information of network configuration, system updates, contact lists and IT procedures;
- Mobile Device Management, including serving as backup administrator for ensuring all mobile phones are up-to-date with the latest software, security patches, and configurations.
- Conference Room Renovation, including providing support and working with project team to ensure connectivity
- JWICS reconfiguration, including providing support and working with project teams to reposition existing JWICS clients to support JIATF West’s realignment;
- Supporting INDOPACOM to establish end-to-end-encryption between buildings; and
- IT Hardware Troubleshooting and connections
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Current DoD TS/SCI Clearance
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent (A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Cyber Security or related fields Highly Preferred)
- 5 years of experience (DoD Network, System Administration, and/or Cyber Security protocols and best practices Highly preferred)
- Current CompTIA Security+ 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification; Current CompTIA Network+ and CCNA or CCNP Enterprise 8570 IAT Level III preferred
- Experience/knowledge in the following:
- Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS), National Security Agency (NSA), Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) HOPPER, Special Access Programs (SAP) and other various DoD or Government programs and processes
- Providing DoD technical and direct support as Network Engineer
- Management of DoD Networking systems, sub-systems, equipment and infrastructure
- Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS) network including account creation, ticket management, JIRA familiarity, workstation and server installation, server maintenance, network equipment maintenance and troubleshooting outages.
- Experience/Knowledge with conducting IT trainings, presentations, recommendations, upgrades and documentation for Government personnel or leadership and JWICS-DVTC technical and administrative functionality.
- Familiarity with DoN/DoD Network Management, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
- Familiarity with DoN/DoD Engineering Manuals, Documentation, Test Planning, Regression Testing and Implementation or Integration Planning
- Familiarity with DoN/DoD/Industry Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Equipment Management
