HALO is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior IT Manager, On-Premises Infrastructure with a proven track record in leading and managing cloud infrastructure teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based systems. They will play a crucial role in driving innovation, optimizing performance, and ensuring the security and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. This role will work closely with other leaders, within the IT space as well as cross-functionally to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure. This role is a technical hands-on role with management responsibilities.

- If you reside within a 30-mile radius of our IL offices, you are required to work a hybrid schedule, working in-person anywhere from 1-3 times a week.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive On-premises strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure administrative and technical compliance to infrastructure and security standards and policies.
- Provide strategic direction for the adoption of emerging On-premises technologies to enhance business operations.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and best practices, to assure operational reliability, productivity, scalability, and security compliance.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of On-premises engineers and administrators.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Infrastructure Design, Implementation, Management & Support
- Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient On-premises infrastructure solutions.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of on-premises resources and optimize costs.
- Monitor and report on on-premises infrastructure availability, reliability, fault tolerance.
- Evaluate, configure, monitor and manage switching, routing, wireless and firewalling technologies.
- Monitor and manage warehousing and shipping technologies, such as label printers, weigh stations and third party ship management software.
- Develop service agreements and performance metrics for on-premises IT services.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements through the effective management of services, solutions, technologies, and vendors.
- Consolidate technologies, centralize technology management, and simplify infrastructure architecture.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments, as required.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security best practices for On-premises environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue identification and resolution.
- Continuously optimize and fine-tune On-premises infrastructure for optimal performance.
Vendor Management
- Collaborate with On-premises service providers and manage vendor relationships.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance On-premises capabilities.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
- Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Conduct regular drills and assessments to ensure preparedness.
Documentation & Training
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all On-premises infrastructure components.
- Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members.
Work hours & Travel Expectations
This role may require occasional on-call/after-business-hours availability, as required to support deployments, resolve production problems, or respond to technical emergencies. It may require some travel between the following areas:
o Sterling, IL
o Oakbrook, IL
o Aurora, IL
Requirements
- At least 7 years of IT leadership experience, with a hands-on technical experience and On-premises infrastructure development and support.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Exceptional collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficient in presenting to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong writing, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High technical aptitude and a strong commitment to staying informed of current trends.
