The Role
The Facilities Technician will report directly to the Facilities Manager, Americas Field Offices, and will hold a number of responsibilities within the Office. Primary role includes maintaining overall appearances of the office environment and surrounding grounds, supporting office moves and completing work orders as assigned. Additionally, the Facilities Technician will assess and consider daily 1) the safety of our employees, 2) the security of our assets 3) the service to our employees and 4) the aesthetics of our buildings. This position will coordinate outside contractors or vendors for various services.
Your day-to-day
- Maintain conference room functions and appearances.
- Maintain break room functions and appearances, working with suppliers to ensure they are stocked appropriately and equipment is functioning properly.
- Perform daily inspection of print areas to ensure cleanliness and replenish supplies as needed.
- Perform regular systematic inspections of building grounds and buildings.
- Complete duties as requested via JIRA ticket system in a timely manner.
- Coordinate repairs for small office equipment such as printers and copiers.
- Attention to safety, cleanliness and the day to day efficient functioning of the general office environment.
- May act as the project coordinator for small projects including repair and new facility construction projects.
- Solicits bids and quotes from vendors.
- Monitors and replaces light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed
- Assists with departmental and employee moves
- Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed
- Dismantles and installs furniture
- Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain clean facility
- Repair items like broken chairs and sit/stand adjustable desks
- Receive deliveries and put away items in closets
- Assist and/or direct outside maintenance and other trade contractors
- Perform preventative and routine facilities maintenance
- Fill in at reception when needed.
- Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
What You Bring To The Team
- Minimum 3 years field experience with trade school training or 5 years total field experience.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Sound MS Office and other computer app experience.
- Superior customer service skills and orientation. Collaborative style needed. Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under stressful situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints, without direct supervision.
- Sound troubleshooting skills and the capacity to fully resolve problems
- Formal training in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and HVAC systems or equivalent experience preferred, but not mandatory.
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Ability to interpret or work from sketches, building plans, specifications and oral or written instructions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, darkness, or poor lighting conditions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, stand for long periods, climb ladders and work from high places, and bend, stoop, reach, lift and move at least seventy-five (75) pounds.
