As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support for incidents and service requests related to the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, data protection, and virtualization. You will diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution by coordinating with peer engineers and other teams. Additionally, you will play a key role in implementing, monitoring, and optimizing backup and disaster recovery strategies, maintaining data integrity and availability. Your responsibilities also include routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance and security. Accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions is crucial.
Location
- Our home office is based in Cincinnati, OH. However, we are open to hiring someone who is fully remote regardless of location. Although the position will be remote, there might be some occasional travel to ERPS facilities or customer sites.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for incidents and service requests related to IT infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues, collaborating with peer engineers and other teams when necessary.
- Implement, monitor, and optimize backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of infrastructure components.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of infrastructure configurations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Strong experience in VMware support and design, with expertise in disaster recovery.
- Demonstrable experience in data protection, preferably with knowledge of Cohesity.
- Experience with Cisco UCS or Cisco Networking is a plus.
- Certifications such as VCP, CCNA, or equivalent are beneficial.
- Proficiency in software tools like SolarWinds, Secure CRT, Putty, VMware SRM, Vrealize, Vrops, NSX-T, Ansible, and Cohesity.
Personality/Culture Fit:
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with VMware in various versions and configurations,They should be confident in taking on problems beyond their current knowledge base and be willing to contact support for quick resolutions.
Adaptability to an ever-changing and dynamic environment is essential. The candidate should be confident and enjoy sharing knowledge and making customers successful, taking ownership of their area of expertise.
