WadiTek has an exciting opportunity for a Cloud Engineer. This is a full-time job with benefits and a hybrid position remote for 4 days per week and onsite 1 day per week at the Coast Guard facility in Kearneysville, WV.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of applications and services. As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy and manage cloud-based solutions that align with our client's business objectives.
In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, engineers, and product teams to deliver our customers the most efficient use of resources and technologies. You will work as part of a team that identifies appropriate resources and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of application build-outs. You will also assess risks, anticipate technical issues, manage escalations, and help manage technical constraints to maximize system availability.What You'll Be Doing
What You Need To Have
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure platforms to support the organization's applications and services.
- Collaborate with software development and operations teams to define infrastructure requirements, ensure optimal application performance, and automate deployment processes.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to ensure consistent and reproducible deployments.
- Ensure security best practices are followed throughout the cloud environment, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform regular backups, and disaster recovery testing, and implement business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide timely solutions.
- Stay current with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines into the cloud environment.
- U.S. Citizenship
- A Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance
- 5+ years as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in designing and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, or Azure, including services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Azure Virtual Machines, Kubernetes Engine, etc.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and data privacy in a cloud environment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for deployment and configuration management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a STEM-related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Security +CE Certification, or equivalent
- Cloud Certification from AWS, Azure, or equivalent
