Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee all aspects of information technology within our food production company. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in supporting IT for a manufacturing company using the Microsoft enterprise suite, including ERP and server administration, network administration, remote mobile device management, cybersecurity, and providing high quality internal customer service. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining our technology infrastructure, providing performant and reliable systems while providing technical support to IT staff and end-users. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of IT best practices in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Technology Infrastructure Management:
- Manage the company's technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, and endpoints.
- Ensure the reliability and security of the IT infrastructure to support business operations.
- Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
Server Administration and Network Support:
- Oversee the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers and related services typical of manufacturing company including manufacturing floor endpoints.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, user accounts, and permissions.
- Ensure the security and integrity of server and network infrastructure, including regular patching and updates.
- Maintain a secure, reliable, performant network and troubleshoot any issues.
Desktop Support and End-User Assistance:
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users, both remotely and on-site.
- Resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, handhelds, thin clients, label printers, and other endpoints.
- Collaborate with end-users to understand their needs and provide appropriate IT solutions.
IT Budgeting and Vendor Management:
- Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with IT vendors, ensuring optimal service levels and cost efficiency.
- Monitor vendor performance and maintain strong relationships with key partners.
IT Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and fostering their professional growth.
- Prioritize tasks, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Foster a collaborative and customer-focused work environment within the IT department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft enterprise solutions, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365.
Proficiency with network infrastructure, WAN and LAN.
Familiarity with ERP systems required, food production industry preferable.
SQL Server scripting and VBA knowledge desired.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Solid understanding of IT security principles and practices.
Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work well under pressure.
