The position of IT Infrastructure Engineer is focused on assisting with the design, deployment, validation, and implementation of scalable solutions within infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security with efficiency, confidence, and competence. The role will report directly to the Director of Saas Infrastructure.
The IT Infrastructure Engineer will be the expert on maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure including servers, email delivery systems, storage, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems in accordance with best practices and established processes
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and tune Java Application servers including Tomcat, some JBoss
- Install, configure, and tune Docker services
- Troubleshoot Java applications on Linux, UNIX, and Windows
- Managing VMware vSphere or other virtualization technology
- Troubleshoot system hardware provide, failure analysis, and recovery
- Troubleshoot network issues related to WAN and LAN access to Java applications and other network accessible services (SFTP, DNS, SSH, VPN, Mail, Apache)
- Installation of database servers (Oracle, MYSQL, MSSQL Server)
- Develop and research new automation and technology opportunities
- Provide 24x7 Tier III Production environment on call support
- Drives documentation of architecture and testing of infrastructure
- Interface directly and indirectly with client staff and 3rd party vendors both technical and non-technical.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in Infrastructure and Operations services
- Experience in Enterprise Cloud Migration and Transformation
- Working knowledge of implementing and managing backup systems such as Veeam
- Understanding of networking and network virtualization required
- Advance analytic and troubleshooting skills for problems that span multiple domains (application, network, system, hardware)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS or CIS or equivalent experience
- 5 years of professional experience with Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky Linux
- Experience with VMware vSphere or Red Hat KVM based virtual machines
- Experience with hosting Java Web Application
- Experience with Cloud Management Software (Oracle Cloud, OpenStack, Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services)
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, and Nexus.
- 5 years of experience with Apache web server or NGINX
- 2-4 years of Advance scripting (Perl or Bash)
- 1-3 years Zabbix or other IT Infrastructure monitoring software system
- Experience running MySQL clustered databases
- 3-5 years windows server experience including domain administration
- Experience with Docker compose or Puppet for infrastructure provisioning tools
