About iTecs
iTecs is a thriving company specializing in MSP, Cybersecurity, and Managed Cloud Hosting services. Our corporate headquarters is in Plano, TX, and we are expanding rapidly. We seek an experienced and driven Network Administrator who can deliver exceptional on-site and remote support and expert consulting and project management services to our clients.
Our expectations of a Network Administrator
A Network Administrator, as per our definition, is a professional with significant experience working with Windows and/or Linux servers, firewalls, and networking solutions such as VPNs (client and S2S). In addition, such a person is competent enough to handle a wide range of IT issues and projects for our clients.
We understand that no one person can know everything, and at iTecs, we encourage Googling error messages and seeking advice from peers when tackling problems. As a Network Administrator, we expect you to have the technical expertise to be primarily self-sufficient in handling IT issues in an average corporate office network. While iTecs Network Administrators work primarily on level 2 tickets and projects, they are also expected to support the team by assisting clients with level 1 tickets as needed.
To minimize the mileage and wear-and-tear on personal vehicles, we provide a company vehicle for on-site client visits and are in the process of expanding our fleet. However, there may be situations where you need to use your car to reach a client site if the company vehicle is not available. In such cases, we will provide bonuses to cover gas expenses if the appointment is outside of a 20-mile radius of our office.
The Network Administrator is expected to have expertise in and provide support with the following tasks:
- Resolve issues with Windows, MAC, and Linux operating systems
- Respond to client requests involving network-related issues
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot various firewalls including Sophos, Fortigate, Sonicwall, Cisco, and Check Point brands
- Knowledge of various VPN solutions including client and site-to-site
- Configuring managed switches including VLANs
- Assist the team with desktop level IT support
- Directing customer messages or calls to the relevant personnel
- Utilizing a ticketing system to track and document requests
- Documenting customer support inquiries and resolutions
- Administrating Active Directory and Office 365
Lastly, we serve a diverse clientele, and as such, we are looking for professionals who possess excellent social skills and carry themselves with the utmost professionalism and corporate etiquette.
The work environment at iTecs
One thing that sets iTecs apart from other companies is that we do not have a traditional help desk with a formal escalation process. Instead, each client is assigned a pod of iTecs experts who work collaboratively to deliver top-tier and white-glove IT support services. Each pod is headed by a Lead Network Administrator who provides guidance and clarification on the specifics of our clients' infrastructures.
Despite our rapid growth and the numerous projects and break-fix support requests we handle daily, we maintain a relaxed culture that empowers our staff to manage their own time, make self-guided decisions when tackling challenges, and take ownership of their work. Therefore, we look for professionals who share our values and can thrive in such an environment.
iTecs is an ideal workplace for highly engaged problem solvers who excel in fast-paced and dynamic environments. As a small company, we rely on close collaboration and mutual support to seize opportunities and achieve our goals. We seek individuals who are committed to their professional growth, possess a keen curiosity for new knowledge, and readily embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. At iTecs, we value a can-do attitude, self-motivation, and a willingness to work hard as part of a team to make a meaningful impact on our clients and the world of IT.
