Seeking a cybersecurity tester with experience with RMF/NIST compliance/contingency planning or disaster recovery.
Description: A Senior Test Engineer must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts. Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. experience in creating reports. Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified. Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments. Must have experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures. Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
We have an opportunity for a Cybersecurity Test Engineer to join our Contingency Planning team as we establish training, testing, and exercise support for the client. Apply advanced consulting and planning or extensive technical expertise in resolving high-visibility client cybersecurity initiatives. You'll work with program leadership to develop, coordinate, and conduct contingency planning tests and exercises for VA information systems. You'll discover and mitigate cybersecurity risks, develop and apply policies and contingency planning best practices, conduct cybersecurity risk assessments and support the maintenance of VA operational security posture both in the physical environment and information systems. You will manage customer relationships to collaborate on assessing risk arising from vulnerabilities and threats, conduct security assessments and ensure system compliance with contingency planning requirements. You will work with your client to develop and collaborate on cybersecurity testing, training and exercises to evaluate and assess the quality of contingency planning artifacts. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
You Have
5+ Experience with NIST special publications, including RMF and NIST security controls specifically system cyber contingency planning
Experience With Information Security And Assurance Principles
Experience in developing and conducting cyber tests and exercises, preferably related to Contingency Planning and Disaster Recovery
Experience in evaluating systems and conducting cyber tests and exercises
Ability to perform risk analysis and vulnerability assessments and annual security reviews in accordance with FISMA reporting
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required and 5 years of experience or a total of 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of education
