POSITION DESCRIPTION: Maintains information technology strategies by managing staff, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions, maximizing computer system capabilities by studying technical applications, making recommendations for improvement, maintenance/repair of all technology-based systems including computers/networks, access control, CCTV, and telephones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with users/departments.
Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs.
Evaluates expansions or enhancements by studying workload and capacity of computer system.
Achieves computer system objectives by gathering pertinent data, identifying and evaluating options, and recommending a course of action.
Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs comparing programs with established standards and making modifications to programs.
Improves existing programs by reviewing objectives and specifications, evaluating proposed changes, recommending changes, and making modifications.
Evaluates vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives and testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.
Places software into production by loading software into computer and entering necessary commands.
Places hardware into production by establishing connections and entering necessary commands.
Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users, interpreting instructions, and answering questions from users throughout the organization.
Maintains system capability by testing computer components.
Maintains/repairs computer/telephone/video/access control hardware at all locations.
Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions.
Maintains client and organization confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Verifies application results by conducting system audits of implemented technologies.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
