You will be responsible for removing impediments, working with diverse personalities and influencing teams toward self-improvement and generating great team results.

In this exciting role, you will report to the Chief Technology Officer and contribute to the success of the company.

Within 30 Days:

Support the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical excellence and stability
Manage processes to help the team do its best work and interface effectively with the rest of the company.
Coordinate and work with your peers in Product, Systems, and Data Science to deliver a platform that is rapidly growing
Familiarize yourself with the Product and Architecture roadmaps
Familiarize yourself with the company’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) including the agile product development process
Recruit, coach, and develop engineers
Learn the FAIR ontology and become familiar with how our product is solving customer needs

Within 60 Days:

Establish and/or improve value focused metrics to track team productivity and progress
Help the team increase release cadence and engineering velocity
Work with the scrum teams, DevOps, and Product Management to mature/formalize our release process including planning, release trains, and readiness
Contribute to product and engineering initiatives as a member of the Product and Engineering management team
Assist Product Owners to ensure backlog is well defined and organized

Within 90 Days:

Develop a working knowledge of the domain, product and value proposition including the key primary and secondary personas, their pain points and their desired outcomes
Evaluate the department’s agile maturity and create plans for improvement
Mentor teams, leading them to be self-directed with strong accountability, decision-making, conflict resolution, and transparency
Lead cross functional project management efforts for tactical and strategic projects centered around Product Readiness, Operational Readiness, and “go to market” Launch Readiness

Desired Skills & Experience:

Managed an engineering team that has built and maintained a SaaS application (preferably B2B)
Demonstrated your technical knowledge enough to coach & develop engineers on improving architecture and product decisions
You enjoyed working with customers both internally and externally
You collaborated across the organization and within the Product team to continuously improve our product
You were able to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
You thrived on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
You encouraged a healthy work environment that’s both supportive and challenging to promote growth of the team
Two + years of Engineering Management experience
