Position

The Operations Technology Manager ensures that the highest quality work is carried out in all aspects of department activities; conducts her/himself in a professional manner on the museum’s behalf; works as a constructive team member to foster interdepartmental productivity and relationships; and serves as an ambassador in communicating and furthering the mission and goals of the Museum.

Responsible for managing the technology aspects of the museum’s Operations function, including information technology, communications, office systems and equipment, contract administration and technology-focused special projects.

Essential Job Functions

Information Technology and Communications

Oversee all IT systems and services for the Museum, including hardware, software, and service providers
Liaise with and manage vendors contracted to provide information technology and other general communications services
Ensure that new staff receive necessary hardware and software, and basic technology orientation
Oversee staff member technology training and requests for technical support
Oversee and provide support for staff member requests related to communications services including telephone, conference calls, and AV equipment
Maintain an archive of hardware and software documentation, warranties, inventories, and other pertinent information
Maintain a complete and accurate inventory of IT and communications hardware

Office Administration

Develop a comprehensive suite of Standard Operating Procedures for office equipment and departmentally shared administrative functions; train staff to ensure clear communication and efficient processes
Manage the routine maintenance and operation of assigned office equipment
Liaise with vendors contracted to provide office administrative services, including copiers, document disposal, and shipping
Monitor and support office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement
Oversee procurement of major furniture and equipment purchases

Multi-Media

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of all audio/visual systems to ensure they support the needs of the Museum.
Coordinate staff training on proper use of multi-media equipment.

Requirements

Minimum three years experience in IT services and organizational operations

Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Relevant education and experience may be substituted for degree.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Leadership – Must treat all respectfully; ability to organize and motivate a project team

Organization – Knowledge of organizational administration; knowledge of project management and budget management; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with successful outcomes; ability to function in a dynamic environment with multiple internal customers

Technical – Experience with IT systems and networks, and VOIP phone systems; skill in using personal computers and devices (PC and Apple); knowledge of MS Teams and SharePoint as well as MS Office software applications; familiar with CRM database concepts and use Preferred experience: Microsoft Admin, MS SharePoint, JAMF and Apple Business Manager, Blackbaud Altru, Blackbaud University, Meraki device management, CounterPoint POS system
