Prince William County Public Schools

About Us

Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) provides a world-class education to more than 89,000 students in 100 schools and centers in Northern Virginia, just 25 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. Known for its system of school-based management, which emphasizes decision-making and accountability at the school level, each PWCS school has its own unique character while pursuing the common goal to provide a World-Class Education to every student. Students and staff benefit from innovative instructional and professional learning programs, specialty programs (K-12), and career paths, resulting in continuous growth each year.

PWCS Connect, our leading induction and mentoring system, combines orientation and onboarding, one-on-one mentoring, support from a team of master educators at the school level, and ongoing job-embedded and division-level professional learning to provide strategic, tiered support for beginning educators. Our family of employees benefits from extensive professional learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive benefits options, and many other incentives in a school division that continues to hire hundreds of professional educators each year.

"PWCS was a clear choice for me. I wanted to work in a district that offered world-class learning experiences for students, yet also provided personalized experiences and help for students and employees. PWCS is the only district in the area with a small-town feel and big-city drive." -2017-18 New Teacher
