At the same time, the proliferation of robust fintech companies combined with a more than 20x increase ($20.5 Billion in 2020) in investment into fintech has enabled a step change in the sophistication, variety and complexity of customer-facing products, forcing a corresponding evolution and increase in the sophistication of what is needed for infrastructure in fintech.

While fintech is pushing boundaries, fintech players have largely accepted that connecting into banks is an unavoidable pain point. The frustration comes in many forms - technical acumen, product scalability, customer focused risk appetite, and culture. These gulfs separate the current set of players in banking with the needs of the future.

We see an opportunity for a technology and developer-focused bank to support sophisticated financial services, augmented with the compliance, regulatory, capital markets, and legal support that is still needed on top of even the most technologically advanced APIs. This enables us to provide a full suite of products with full control over our risk and compliance decisions.

Role Description:

We are looking to hire a Head of Information Security to build and evangelize a comprehensive security practice across all areas of Lead Bank. This role will work with our Risk and Technology leaders to define, implement and maintain secure practices ensuring that Lead Bank’s information security management program is aligned with our enterprise risk profile and assets are adequately protected.

This role will be a key member of our team, reporting to our Chief Legal & Risk Officer. As we scale, you will be a strategic partner in building a best-in-class security and privacy program - owning initiatives of security governance, risk, security operations, assurance and trust.

In this role you will:

Assess the current state of Lead Bank’s security practices, highlighting areas for immediate improvement and long-term changes
Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive information security risk management program that is informed by industry best practice and aligns with Lead Bank’s risk profile and risk management processes.
Demonstrate a mindset that appropriately balances operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Maintain a strategic roadmap that optimally supports our ongoing needs as we continue to grow and scale
Generate “security-first” practices, policies and procedures
Maintain relevant performance metrics associated with security operations.
Be responsible for financial management of all products and services pertaining to information security. This includes budget forecasting as well as purchasing and invoice approval for all third party software and services.
Stay abreast of the shifting security landscape and communicate amongst leadership.
Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

10+ years demonstrated security experience dealing with enterprise risk management, compliance, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint systems - preferably in innovative environments including fintech
5+ years experience managing security teams.
The ability to be practical and are eager to collaborate/compromise to get to the best, most efficient outcome
Strong judgment and analytical skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to align stakeholders on the goals and behaviors required for success

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $200,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
