Who You Are:

As an IT Security Engineer, you are obsessed with network and infrastructure defense-in-depth. You spend your free time red-teaming internal networks and conjuring secure cloud environments from seemingly out of thin air. You a builder by nature and no infrastructure challenge is either too small or too complex to tackle. Your light reading favorites include “CMMC Quarterly” and “The NIST Compliance Handbook”.

What You Will Do:

We’re looking for an IT Security Engineer to lead all aspects of IT within a company in a regulatory environment. Since we are a technology firm in the defense arena, someone that brings IT expertise for both on-prem and cloud in a regulatory environment across a wide range of technologies is a requirement. A key to success in this role is someone that is just as comfortable being hands-on to improve our current infrastructure as they are in directing others. We view this role as having a clear progression from architect/engineer to manager and director as the company scales – your ability to grow and scale should match.

Flexibility is key and no one day will be the same as the next. You will build up the IT department and be the go-to resource internally and externally with our vendors. Some things you will be responsible for are:

Act as the internal IT touchpoint for employees to include onboarding/offboarding, training, and communications.
Provide infrastructure recommendations and prioritizations for leadership
Design, implementation, maintenance, and auditing of System Security Plans pertaining to CMMC and NIST compliance
Develop new security controls to meet updated standards
Develop incident response plans and execute them as needed
Translate business needs to IT and information security program strategy and execute accordingly
Propose and maintains budgets for company-wide infrastructure resources
Design, implement, and maintain corporate network infrastructure (cloud and on-prem) ensuring required compliance within corporate and industrial security frameworks
Implement new systems and shepherd Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation
Collaborate across corporate functions to identify and meet policy needs
Lead and direct existing vendors as well as identify new technologies and vendors to meet company needs
Work closely with our MSP to monitor corporate infrastructure health and needs

Our IT Security Manager must have:

A degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
Hands on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, and related security tools (Defender, Intune, Sentinel, AIP, DLP, etc.).
Experience with enterprise deployment and security configurations for at least two of Windows, Linux, or macOS.
Prior experience designing, building, implementing, and maintenance of enterprise IT systems and networks
Maintenance of on prem and virtual systems to include firewalls, routers, switches, SIEMs, and servers
Comprehensive understanding of security standards and frameworks including NIST SP 800, FedRAMP, CMMC, and RMF
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

The Fine Print/ Security Clearance Requirements:

Preferred – TS/SCI
Nice to Have – Secret
Acceptable – Uncleared but eligible for a clearance
