GVM is looking for an IT manager to lead our initiatives in technology and automation.

The IT Manager would be responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading technology-related activities within Grand Valley Manufacturing.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Oversee essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.

• Oversee IT Vendors, including Managed Service Provider, and CMMC Provider.

• Act as GVM’s Cybersecurity Officer – achieve and maintain CMMC Level 2 Compliance

• Oversee robotics and automation systems on the floor.

• Automation of manual paperwork processes, both in the office and shop floor.

• Maintain and support customized software/hardware systems including ERP’s, and Databases

• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.

• Oversee installations, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various types of computer systems and components.

• Oversee the configuration of computers and installs hardware and software.

• Organizing and managing deadlines for major IT projects, such as system updates, migrations, upgrades, and outages

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.

• Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology; 5 years’ experience working in IT operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills

• In-depth understanding of programming, computer science, and digital security

• Understanding of IT infrastructure and operations best practices

• Prior work in Manufacturing preferred

• Ability to work Autonomously, taking Initiative as needs arise.

• Strong communication, including writing, speaking, and active listening

• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, and prioritization.

The employee will be required to wear eye, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas.

Work may be hybrid after initial orientation and depending on current GVM initiatives and projects at any given time.
